I have recently discovered a love of going to places where being nude is encouraged.  I've never previously had experience with naturist spas, retreats, beaches or resorts, and I'm interested in discovering more.  Are there any like-minded people here who have suggestions?

I'm very keen to try this resort in Crete.

I'm certainly with you on this, Hannah. I think that being naked is one of life's great pleasures. It's simple, free and feels great.

There is no feeling in the world like being completely unencumbered by clothes outdoors and feeling the warmth of the sun and a breeze against my skin, or feeling grass or sand under my feet or being surrounded by the water of the sea, a lake or a swimming pool. I find it also wonderful to be surrounded by other people who feel equally uninhibited and are openly naked without any embarrassment.

A couple of my favourite places are:

Eureka Sun Club in Kent, UK. They have a wet area with hot tubs and a sauna; an outdoor swimming pool; and large grounds where you can wander naked through open fields and woods. It may be a naturist club by day but at night it's a full-on swingers club and many of the members are swingers. This means that even during the day, if you are with somebody special and you want to get frisky outside, you are very unlikely to find anybody who minds, but the grounds are large enough for there to be nobody around anyway.

Rio's in Kentish Town, on the northern side of central London. Outdoors, this only has a small terrace, but inside is a swimming pool, showers, steam rooms, saunas a cold plunge pool and three jacuzzis (one of which is huge). It is one of the few well-equipped mixed spas in the UK that I know of where you don't have to wear anything. I have whiled away many happy hours here.

It seems to me that if you use a sauna or steam room to let the heat and moisture get to your skin and do its stuff, it completely defeats the object to insulate your skin from that by wrapping a towel round yourself. That notion seems to be very prevalent in English-speaking countries. In continental Europe, especially Germany and neighbouring countries, you don't get any of that attitude. They just let it all hang out, and if you ask me, they have exactly the right idea.
